Richard Lee Weitner, 73, of Hobart, Oklahoma was born June 27, 1944 in Mountain Park, Oklahoma. He went to be with his heavenly father on May 13, 2018 at his residence in Hobart, Oklahoma.
Richard married the love of his life Wilma Lee Trimble on February 17, 1968 in Hobart, Oklahoma. He was one of a kind, always telling stories and there were so many of them, he could keep you entertained for hours. He loved his career with law enforcement, his greyhounds, watching Survivor and Thunder basketball and his family. His favorite past time was watching deer and turkey. He also liked to play Poker.
Richard attended most of his school years in Mountain Park and graduated from Hobart High School in 1962. He attended college at Oklahoma State University. He served in the United States Air force during Vietnam War until he was honorably discharged in August 1969. He began his career with the Texas Department of Public Safety as a Highway Patrolman, until he was disabled on the job in 1982. He began his career with the Oklahoma State Reformatory in January 1983 until he retired in September 2002. He also owned and operated the Weitner Greyhound Farm from 1984 through 2008.
He is survived by his wife Wilma Weitner,
daughters: Ginger Corbin and Dan Corbin, Sentinel, Oklahoma,
Laura Weitner and Brandon Lipscomb, Huntington, West Virginia
5 grandchildren: Dustin Corbin, Hannah Byers, Dillon Corbin, Cali Corbin, Dayson Corbin
8 great-grandchildren: Dawson Corbin, Dane Corbin, Daylon Corbin, Danny Corbin, Brooklyn Smith, Dexton Corbin, Caylan Sanders, Creede Fry, and one great-granddaughter on the way.
1 sister Donna Kay Walker of Sierra Vista, Arizona.
He is preceded in death by his parents Virgil and Virginia Weitner, brother Carl Wayne Weitner, and 1 grandson Dallas Corbin.
