On March 20, 2022 Richard Leon Thompson, 88, of Carnegie, Oklahoma passed unexpectedly at the Tri-County Municipal Hospital. He was born on October 17, 1933 to Gene and Eula (Bates) Thompson in Oil City, Oklahoma. He grew up and attended school in Oil City, Oklahoma. In 1959, Richard came to Carnegie working on a drilling rig that came to the area, then drove a truck before starting his own insulation business in 1972. He met the love of his life, Xyla Craig, they were united in marriage on April 17, 1960 at her family home in Carnegie, Oklahoma. Richard enjoyed playing snooker and collecting antiques, but most of all he loved working. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
