Richard Elliott Sandy, 81, went to his Heavenly home on October 1, 2021. Richard was born January 26, 1940, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Lavern and Mable Sandy. He is the second born out of three children.
Richard served in the US Air Force from November 14, 1961, to November 12, 1965. He went on to graduate from OSU with a Master's Degree in electrical engineering.
He met and married Shirley Schouten in 1966 and they moved to California where he started his career at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. From that union, they had four children. Charla, Anna, Yancy and John.
After their separation, he met and married his life partner, Shirley Elaine Sandy on May 10th, 1978. In this marriage, Richard gained two bonus sons, Joe and Mark. Together, they raised and adopted many, many other children.
In 1998, Richard retired from Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and moved back to Oklahoma in March of 1999 to be with his mother until her passing in 2001. Richard loved riding his horse, Rocky, and tinkering in his workshop.
He is preceded in death by his: paternal and maternal grandparents; father, Lavern and mother, Mable; sister, Mary Louise; son Michael Marro; daughter, Penny Ann Viden; granddaughter, Cheyne McCullough.
He is survived by his:

Brother: Gaylon Sandy
He has also left behind 29 great-grandchildren, many cousins, aunts and uncles and nieces and nephews.
He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
