He married Carolyn Hunt, August 25, 1941 in Taos, NM. He and Carolyn have lived in Norman, OK the past 6 years. Richard was a member of Taos-Pueblo.

2 Grandchildren: Lance Hunt Lujan and Arron R. Lujan
3 Great-grandchildren Eli, Ryann and Linley
He was preceded in death by his mother, a sister, Marcelle Stanford and a great- grandson, Vaughn Lujan
