Richard Martin Banderas, 67, passed away on May 16, 2022 in Lawton, OK. He was born on January 8, 1955 in Lawton, OK to Richard A. Chico Banderas and Martha Archilta Banderas.
Richard attended school in Boone OK. He served in the United States Army from August 23, 1971 to August 22, 1975 receiving the rank of Specialist 4. Richard was assigned to the 101st Airborne at Fort Campbell, Kentucky while there he was Squad Leader. He also served in the Oklahoma Army National Guard from 1975 until 1977 with the 45th Infantry based in Anadarko, Ok.
Richard was an active member of the KCA Veterans Organization, Apache Native American Church, Apache Native Warriors Society and Apache Blackfeet Society. He worked with construction, building concrete, and was the Warehouse Manager for the Housing Authority of The Apache Tribe from April 5, 2013 until present. Richard enjoyed his job, respected and loved his coworkers.
On November 6, 1972, Richard married Mary Imotichey in Boone, OK and through their union 2 sons and 3 daughters were born. He later married Lesley Youngblood in Boone, OK on June 15, 2013. Through this union he gained 3 sons.
Richard loved family gatherings, his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a loving, giving man whom couldn't turned down someone asking for help.
