Rebecca Ellece Lawson, Becky, was born on November 16,1942 to Henry Nokes and Alta Joan Lawson. She was a 1960 graduate of Carnegie High School, and upon graduation, she attended Blackwood Business College in Oklahoma City. In January of 1962, she married Jerry Maddox. They were blessed with their girls, Beverly Jo Von and Cynthia La Ann.
In 1976, Becky began working for The Farmers Bank where she retired in 2017. She was a member of First Baptist Church Carnegie and began playing the organ when she was in Junior High. She played the organ there for over 50 years. She also kept the nursery, sang with the Senior Adult Choir, and enjoyed going on church trips/retreats.
Becky followed in her mother's footsteps and received her cosmetology license in the late 90's. She also enjoyed baking sweet treats. Her greatest joy came from being active in the lives of her grandchildren and great grandchildren where she gained the name "MAW". Becky would eventually make the move to Texas in 2021.
Maw went to be with the Lord, Friday, April 26, 2024. She is proceeded in death by her parents Henry and Joan Lawson, and her brother Donnis Lawson. She is survived by her girls, Beverly Frederick and husband Dale of Carnegie, OK, and Cynthia Dixon and husband Steven of Terrell, TX. Her grandchildren Nichole Clark and husband Ryan of Carnegie OK, and Nicholas Parr and wife Haley of Carnegie, OK. The loves of her life, great grandchildren Garrett Clark of Mt View, OK, Ganden Clark of Stillwater, OK, Grace Clark of Carnegie, OK, Brody, Zayn, and Maison Parr of Little Elm, TX, and Brayden Harrison of Carnegie, OK. Maw leaves behind nephews and a niece, and a host of many friends.
