Raymond Bruce Nance

February 2, 1942 — December 23, 2015

Raymond Bruce Nance, 73 of Carnegie, OK passed from this earth on December 23rd 2015 after an extended battle with Congestive Heart Failure at Integris Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK. Bruce was born February 2nd 1942 to Raymond Ray Nance and Patricia Meyer Nance in Carnegie, OK. He attended schools in Wichita, KS and Alden school district, before moving to Carnegie where he graduated in 1959. He also attended the Oklahoma Military Academy in Claremore, OK where he was active in Basketball and Baseball. He married Nelda Faye Charles on July 13th 1962, at the First Baptist Church in Carnegie, OK. He worked at the Furniture Plant in Oklahoma City assisting with its' relocation to Carnegie; employed for 35 years in the wood working industry; and during the life span of the factories here in this community. He was employed by the Carnegie Public Schools where he was a bus driver and janitor. He also worked for the John Deere dealership located south of Carnegie. He coached multiple Little League teams and had the privileged of assisting in various capacities with several Carnegie football teams over the years. He retired from the Carnegie Volunteer Fire department with more than 20 years' service. He was an avid outdoors man who loved fishing and hunting. He was a long standing member of the First Baptist Church, Carnegie, OK, where he had taught Sunday school and sang in the choir. He loved God, spending time with his family, friends, and his community.
He is survived by his wife, Nelda Nance of the home.

He is preceded in death by his father Raymond Ray Nance, son Michael Bruce Nance, and son-in-law Carlos del Hierro.
Funeral services will be Tuesday December 29, 2015 at 2:00 pm at the First Baptist Church in Carnegie, OK. Interment will follow at the Carnegie Cemetery. Services will be under the direction of Ray & Martha's Funeral Home, Carnegie, OK.
