Ralph Leon Geis, 93, of Denton, Texas, passed away peacefully with family by his side on August 11, 2018. Ralph was born on March 8th, 1925 to Esra and Lena (Leiphardt) Geis 5 miles east of Rocky, Oklahoma. As a small child, he moved with his parents to a farm 5 miles south of Gotebo, Oklahoma where he resided until 1987.
Ralph attended the Hill School located south of Gotebo through the 8th grade. He graduated from Gotebo High School in 1942. He married Frances Laufer on March 8, 1946 at Salem Baptist Church northwest of Gotebo. She preceded him in death on August 17, 2002. He worked as a farmer and rancher until retiring in 1990.
Ralph had a passion for his church and music. He joined the First Baptist Church in Gotebo at the age of 17. He served as a deacon, pianist and organist until 1987. After moving to Hobart, he joined the First Baptist Church in Hobart where he served as a deacon and substitute organist until his health failed. He was very generous with his musical talent and played for many weddings, funerals, civic clubs and nursing home functions.
Ralph moved to an assisted living facility in Corinth, Texas in 2005. He continued to play for church services at the facility. All were blessed by his presence and he was much loved by his family, the residents and caregivers.

Lindsey Sahualla & husband Chris of Denton. TX
Mario Cruz & wife Andrea of Newalla, OK
9 Great Grandchildren: Isabella Cruz, Devon Cruz, Creed Cruz, Braden Geis, Avery Geis, Gentry Geis, Ayla Geis, Brooklyn Sahualla, and Madison Sahualla.
