Quent Craig Harris, 49, of Paducah, KY died at 8:11 p.m. Sunday, August 7, 2016 at Baptist Health Paducah. Quent was of the Baptist faith, and Vice President of Vessel Operations at Marquette Transportation. Quent was a member of the Marquette family for over 5 years. He was a dedicated leader, teacher, mentor and friend to many others throughout the entire inland maritime industry during a career spanning over 30 years. He enjoyed outdoor actvities of hunting and fishing with his dad and his two sons and the sporting events that the boys were involved all of their school days. Quent had respect for all people and would talk to any stranger and gain new friends. Family and friends speak highly of all the stories that he would tell. He was such a great story teller.
Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Danielle Davis Harris; two sons, Payton Roy Harris and Brady Craig Harris both of Paducah, KY; parents, A.C. Harris & Norma Ratliff Harris , Hobart, OK; one brother, Dakin Clay Harris, Hobart, OK; one granddaughter, Reese Elizabeth; mother-in-law, Christine Davis, Paducah, KY; one sister-in-law, Jan Phillips and husband, Floyd, Biloxi, MS; two brothers-in-law, Wade Davis and wife Lisa, Myrtle Beach, SC and Bill Davis of Ft. Worth, TX; several neices and nephews; cousins and many, many friends.
Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, August 11, 2016 at the Lone Oak Chapel Milner & Orr Funeral Home with Rev. Stan Reid officiating. The Harris family will receive friends Thursday, August 11, 2016 from 12:00 noon until service time of 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
