Peggy Joe Welch

Peggy Joe "Knight" Welch-Maldonado of Hobart, Oklahoma passed away September 3, 2022, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at Integris Baptist Hospital surrounded by loved ones. She was born on August 16, 1936, to William Edward Knight and Mamie Harris in Claud-Tussy, Oklahoma. She was the baby of 12, hence the nickname "Cry Baby Peggy Joe".
Peggy met the love of her life Pete Maldonado Jr. and spent the next 30 wonderful years together. Peggy and Pete enjoyed watching black and white westerns with John Wayne and Elvis. They even made a game out of the guessing the year it was made. They loved watching Monday and Friday night wrestling as well as Jeopardy on a daily basis and listening to music late into the night. She loved watching sports on TV and was an avid OU Sooner fan as well OKC Thunder fan going as far as naming her fur baby KD after Kevin Durant.
Peggy enjoyed going to garage sales where she built up a collection of angels, bells, tea pots, and other knickknacks. Peggy loved family get together's whether it was Saturday BBQs, holidays, or a birthday. Any chance to visit with her kids.

Peggy leaves behind an extraordinary legacy of 115. She was Nana to 39 grand-kids 44 great grandkids 12 great-great grandkids as well as anyone else who met her because that is how she introduced herself. Nana will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved
her.
Peggy is survived by her husband Pete Maldonado Jr., of

Raymond Gilreath, daughter in law Joanna Welch,
grandson Joe Sykes and great-great grandson Konnor Gibson.
