Peggy Johnson

Peggy Johnson, 83, of Gotebo, OK passed away on Tuesday, November 8th, 2011, in the Carnegie Tri-County Hospital. She was born December 21, 1927 in Mountain View, OK to Cecil and Margaret (Roberts) Ladymon. Peggy lived in Kiowa county all her life and graduated from Cooperton High School. She graduated from Southwestern State College in Weatherford in 1965 and began teaching at Gotebo Schools where she taught 23 years until her retirement in 1988. Peggy taught mostly 4th grade. Peggy married Weldon Johnson on August 28, 1943 in Mountain View. She was a seamstress, quilter, dessert maker and loved to do wood burning and most of all she loved her grandchildren. She attended the First Baptist Church at Gotebo.

a daughter, Karen Mason and husband, Jim, Gotebo, OK
daughter-in-law, Sue Johnson, Gotebo, OK
grandson, Brian Johnson and wife, Misty, Gotebo, OK
granddaughter, Kristin Johnson, Yukon, OK
two great-grandsons: Trevor and Trenton Julian, Gotebo, OK

She was preceded in death by her parents, infant daughter, Patricia Johnson, two sisters: Frances Dennison and Cleta Silkey, son, Bradley Johnson, grandson, Jason Hestand, and great-grandson, Tucker Johnson.


Funeral Services: 2:00 p.m., Thursday, November 10, 2011
First Baptist Church, Gotebo, OK
Interment: Hobart Rose Cemetery, Hobart, OK

Under the direction of Ray and Martha's Funeral Home, Hobart, OK
