Peggy Lou Albright

July 3, 1925 — December 29, 2019

Peggy Lou (Buchanan) Albright passed away December 29, 2019 in Weatherford, Oklahoma.
Peggy was born on July 3, 1925 to Thomas Henry and Jenny Lucille (Williams) Buchanan on a farm near Cooperton, Oklahoma. Dr. Martin of Roosevelt delivered Peggy. Growing up with 4 brothers, Peggy was quite the tomboy. As a child, she played with her brothers on their Shetland pony cart. After her little brother Pat's birth, she proudly told her schoolteacher she had the privilege of naming the new addition. She had been studying Patrick Henry in history and she thought that was a fine name. Peggy was a daddy's girl used to being the apple of her father's eye, except when she told him she wanted to play basketball. She didn't get her wish that time.
Peggy attended most of her school years in Cooperton, even skipping a grade, and went on to graduate from Hobart.
Peggy married her best friend and perfect match Stephen Wesley Albright on December 12, 1942 at the Washita County Courthouse. They moved to Monroe, North Carolina in August of 1943 where Wesley was to be stationed. Peggy moved back to Hobart in June of 1944 after Wesley's Army unit was called overseas. Upon Wesley's return, they resided on a farm near Rainy Mountain.
Peggy and Wesley's first son, Stephen Wayne Albright was born on October 5, 1948.
They moved to Hobart when Steve was 8 months old, then on to a little farm near Roosevelt where the family resided after their second son, Ronald Brent Albright was born on January 15, 1952.
The family lived in Amarillo, Texas then Apache, Oklahoma for a time, finally settling on the family homestead northeast of Cooperton.
Peggy and Wesley moved to Ada, Oklahoma in 1993 for what they called a "better climate." It was still hot...
They came back to southwest Oklahoma after 7 years, buying a house in Mountain View where they enjoyed many happy years together.
Peggy loved the Lord, her beloved Wesley, and her family above all else. Her family is blessed and so grateful to have had Nanny for 94 years.
