Patsy Ann (Gregory) Moore Patsy was born on the family farm one mile east of Cordell on February 16, 1937, to her loving parents, W. B. "Bill" Gregory and Jessie Lucille (Parman) Gregory. She was welcomed by older sisters Billie, Bet, and Zonelle. Pat, as she came to be more widely known, died on Thursday, December 19, 2024. Pat always said she had a wonderful childhood and loved being spoiled by her parents and sisters. She played basketball in high school, was the CHS Annual Queen, and was active in band. Her love of music continued throughout her life. She enjoyed playing the piano for many years, had a beautiful alto voice and enjoyed singing, and loved going to see the Texas Tenors in concerts in Branson and Oklahoma City. She also continued her love of basketball, especially the OKC Thunder. Her favorite player was Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and she had such fun watching on television and getting to see a few games in person. Kyle Moore stole her heart when she was in her teens and they were married on July 26, 1955. Their first home was in Baytown, Texas, where Kyle learned the watchmaking trade. They soon moved to Shattuck, Oklahoma, and a short time later purchased the local jewelry store. Pat often commented how young she was (19) to be a part-owner of a store but at the time she said she didn't consider it odd she was helping other young people as they purchased wedding rings or picked out items for their bridal showers. The television reception was terrible in Shattuck, causing Kyle to investigate more and better options for enhanced television coverage in rural areas, leading him and Pat to begin their next chapter, owning and operating cable television companies. That led them to new places to live as their business spread to Arkansas, Kansas and Texas. Pat would do the books and Kyle would climb the poles, with both of them being active in the communities where they lived. It was while they were living in Arkansas that Pat felt led to adoption. They adopted their daughter, Trecia, in 1963, and their family began there. Pat fondly recalled picking Trecia up in a convertible. With Trecia sitting on the console she put her arms around Pat and Kyle's shoulders and called them Mom and Dad from that day forward. Travel was a big part of their lives and Pat especially enjoyed the trips in their various motor coaches. Designing the coaches was a thrill for Pat and her ideas were often incorporated in the commercial versions sold by the companies. Often she would help with the exterior paint designs as well and they would have a tow vehicle painted to match. Their travels often included stops in out-of-the-way places where they could search for oil and gas memorabilia, a hobby that followed the sale of their extensive collection of antique cars. Pat enjoyed the trips and especially the time they spent in Hershey, Pennsylvania, getting to know other collectors. While Cordell was always "home" for Pat, after Trecia married she and Kyle lived part time in Tucson and also purchased land in Oregon where they could park their coach and enjoy coastal living. Both Pat and Kyle loved dogs and throughout their lives they had a variety of dogs, beginning with their poodle, Cherie. Later in life Pat adopted shelter dogs and more often than not had multiple dogs living with her. God and family were the most important things in Pat's life. Kyle owned her heart and she still missed him and talked about him often. She and Trecia shared many special moments and greatly enjoyed the times they spent together. The birth of her grandchildren, Julie and Kyle, increased Pat's circle of love, which only grew when they married, adding Steve and McKenzie to her growing family. Great-grandchildren Taryn and Hunter added to her joy and she had a very special relationship with them. Pat was a faithful child of God and took to heart His teachings. She had a generous, giving spirit that brought peace and comfort to many and she was always among the first to volunteer for special tasks. Almost everyone in the congregation, and many across town, have received a card from her as she celebrated the good times, mourned with the sad, and thanked people for their efforts.
Pat was preceded in death by her husband, daughter, parents, sisters, brothers-in-law, a niece and nephew, and many, many friends. She is survived by: granddaughter Julie Gathers and husband Steve, of Hydro, Oklahoma; grandson Kyle Harper and wife McKenzie, of Cordell, Oklahoma; great-grandchildren Taryn and Hunter Gathers, of Hydro, Oklahoma; nieces and nephews and many friends.
