Opal Weaver

September 5, 1916 — January 6, 2016

Opal (Vance) Weaver was born September 5, 1916 to Robert James and Ollie (Timmer) Vance in Vian, Ok. She and C.T. (Shorty) Weaver were married October 2, 1937. The couple farmed their entire married life until Shorty died in 1991.

Opal became very active in her community. She was a member of the Quilter's Guild, Flower Club, Home Extension Club and was a "Pink Lady" at the Physicians Hospital. She was a Christian, loved her Lord and was active in her church (Virginia Avenue and First Baptist of Anadarko) while her health permitted. She was the Carpool driver picking up her Sunday School class members each Sunday morning.

Opal was known for her ability to grow beautiful flowers and was also an avid doll collector. You could always find a doll she rescued sitting on her cabinet with new hair and clothes she made for them. Opal was multi-talented and could sew anything, create beautiful quilts and crafts, or repair a tractor if needed.

She wanted to live to be 100 so she could be on Willard Scott's "Jelly Jar". She almost made it. Opal was much loved by her family and friends. She left behind one brother, Floyd of California, Son Kenny and wife Sondra of Anadarko, one granddaughter Angie Grizzell and husband Sean of Texas and four grandsons: Quentin Kluver and wife Sonya, OKC; Kenny Ray Kluver OKC; Scott Weaver and wife Jodi of Moore and Shaun Weaver, Texas. 9 Great grandchildren: Ryan and wife Donna, Jennifer, Jeff, Whitni, Andee, Kyla, Landon, Presley, and Brylee. 3 Great, great, grandchildren: Emma, Elle and Kai.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, and one son, Raymond. Also 8 brothers, Murry, Richard, Rufus, Charlie, Barnie, Billy, and Sam. 4 Sisters Nelia Frederick, Flora Brummell, Una Maulden and Lendy Ratliff.
