Opal Ivy Mcbride

Ivy McBride 99, of Carnegie, Oklahoma passed away, Sunday, July 8, 2018 in Carnegie, Oklahoma. She was born April, 16, 1919 in Fay, Oklahoma to Ada May Dowdy Gordon and George Walter Gordon.

She lived in Eakly and Carnegie Communities. She attended school in New Mexico where she finished the eighth grade.. She married the love of her life, Everett Edison McBride on January 14, 1936 at Anadarko, Oklahoma. They were happily married for sixty six years. They had three children.

She taught Sunday School for many years. She was a member of Extension Homemakers (Caddo County) since 1943 where she served in every office over the years. She was baptized at fifteen y ears of age and was a member of Church of Christ. She set a great Christian example for her family. She was always helping others in need. She was a wonderful wife and loving mother. She was very proud of her children and all her family. She took 4-H girls into her home to teach them to sew. She judged all 4-H programs. She judged fairs at Carnegie, Binger, & Ft. Cobb. She was a member of the Quilting Club here in Carnegie for many years. She helped in Eakly and Carnegie planting flowers and trees to make communities beautiful. She took pride in her flowers and gardening. She loved things to be beautiful. She loved sharing clippings of her flowers with anyone who wanted some.

Survivors include: One son: Donald Ray McBride of Newcastle, Oklahoma
Two Daughters: Virginia May Roland of Odessa, Texas
Lona Ruth Schuermann & husband Richard of Carnegie, Oklahoma
Eight Grandchildren: Jan Widmann & Ricardo of Newcastle, Oklahoma, Dale McBride & Terrie of
Norman, Oklahoma, Donita Tindle & Clayton of Odessa,
Texas, Robert Roland & Rebecka of Odessa, Texas, John Roland of Odessa, Texas, Lance
McClarney & Connie of Katie, TX. Ricky Schuermann of Carnegie, Ok, & Devonna Thompson
& Dean of Houston, TX.
Fifteen Great Grand Children and Eleven Great Great Grand Children.

One sister, Wanda Nelson of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma and numerous nieces & nephews and loving
friends.

Preceded in death by her husband, Everett Edison McBride, her parents, three sisters, and two
brothers, son-in-law, Donald Dean Roland, daughter-in-law, Clara Belle McBride, two granddaughters,
Nancy McClarney and Gina McBride, and two step sisters.

Funeral services: Wednesday, July 11, 2018, 10:00 AM, Ray & Martha's Funeral Home Chapel, Carnegie, Oklahoma.

Viewing: Tuesday, July 10, 2018 9:00 AM - 8:00 PM, Ray & Martha's Funeral Home, Carnegie, Ok.

Interment: Alfalfa Cemetery, Alfalfa, Oklahoma.
