Onella June Myers

June 17, 1938 — April 20, 2019

In the early morning hours of Saturday, April 20, 2019, surrounded by her family, Onella JuneMyers, 80, took her final breath on earth and her first breath in the presence of Jesus Christ.

Born in Alfalfa, Oklahoma to Bill Dirickson and Alma Bailey Dirickson on June 17, 1938, Onella was one of eight children, all preceding her in death. On June 30, 1956, she married Herman

Ray Myers, and that is where her best adventures of farming,
mothering, and serving truly began. Over the next 62 years, residing in
Anadarko, the two built a life that most will only ever observe from afar. Through drought, rain, farming and ranching heartbreaks, one near life-altering car accident, loss of parents, countless trips across the
country and the border, and the raising of two daughters and a grandson, the pair stuck it out, till death they did part, as Herman held her hand until his final "I'll see you later" was spoken.

Over those years, cowboys came from afar to work cattle and get a taste of what she might be cooking up in her humble brick home on top of the hill of Myers ranch. Her kitchen was a sanctuary of sorts, always
serving up a listening ear, good conversation, sweet tea, apple crumb
pie, or cast-iron hamburgers to whomever might walk through the door. No one ever left her kitchen hungry. When she wasn't cooking
something up for her family or hungry cowboys, you could be sure to find her digging for a good bargain in an obscure junk store or hunting down the perfect accessories or décor to finish off an outfit or corner of a newly decorated room. As her health deteriorated and nursing home care became necessary, she neither lost her taste for food that "was fit to eat", nor her taste in fashion as she always, until she no longer could, dressed for a party, with her accessories matching and purse close by.

Her greatest love was her family. The immense effort she put into
helping meet the needs of her husband, daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren was unmatched. No one went without. Not if Onella had anything to say about it. This family was far reaching. Countless people have called Onella "Meme" or "Mom" over the years,
demonstrating her enormous heart for people. Everyone felt like part of the family with her.

Awaiting a reunion to the one they called wife, mom and Meme are her husband Herman of the home, daughters Rayenell Myers of Anadarko, and Traci Jones and husband Ronnie Jones of Anadarko, grandson
DeeJay Henderson and wife Meredith of Anadarko, granddaughter DeAnne Schultz and husband Kevin of Anadarko, granddaughter Amanda Carlile and husband Rev. Brock Carlile of Pauls Valley, great-grandsons Aydan, Ryker, Gavin, and Luke, great-granddaughters
Emilee, Katie, Ava, Ellie, and Britton, as well as many others who she mothered and grand-mothered over the years.
