Oleta Mae Lee

October 24, 1931 — April 18, 2018

Oleta Mae Atchley Lee was born October 24, 1931 in Hobart, OK to Jack and Violet Atchley. They moved to Mangum, OK in 1941 where she attended school until she graduated in 1949. She married the love of her life James Lewis Lee and had 3 children, Jimmy, Gerry, and Larry. They moved to France in 1957. They came back to the U.S. and lived in Fort Sill, OK. She started her medical career at Southwest Hospital in Lawton, OK. They then moved to Amarillo, TX where she lived for 50 years. She was and office administrator in for Dr. Lewis Finney, Dr. Robert Gouldy and many others, often working 2-3 jobs to help buy clothes and treats for her grandchildren and medicine for her sister, Veda Joy. She did not retire until age 72. She was an avid country music fan and loved to dance. She was an inspiration to us all and instilled a strong work ethic.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Violet Atchley, Her husband James Lewis Lee, who passed away January 1, 1983, her son Jimmy Dwayne Lee, her sister Veda Joy Miller, and brother Jerry Atchley.
She is survived by a daughter, Gerry Beaver and spouse Roy Beal of Mangum, OK, her son Larry Lee of Amarillo, her brother Bobby Jack Atchley and wife Kay of Duncan, OK, two granddaughters, Melissa Green and husband R.C. of Leedey, OK, and Cassandra Ferguson and husband J.C of Mangum, OK, two grandsons, Dale Lee and wife Victoria of Mangum, OK, and Jack Beaver and fiancé Jamie Morgan of Houston, TX, 7 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Oleta passed away April 18, 2018 in Mangum, OK with her daughter Gerry at her side. She will be dearly missed.
Viewing will be Friday, April 20 from 9AM to 5PM and Saturday, April 21 from 1PM to 8PM at Ray and Martha's Funeral Home, 103 N. Oklahoma Ave, Mangum, OK.

Funeral Services will be Sunday, April 22, at 2PM at the Grace Christian Fellowship, 128 N. Pennsylvania Ave, Mangum, OK with interment to follow at Riverside Cemetery.
