Norris Dame, 82, longtime Hobart business owner, passed away on Saturday, May 7, 2011 in the Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma after a brief illness. He was born September 24, 1928 in Dunmore, KY to Earl and Lillian Oleta (Blackwell) Dame. Norris joined the Air Force at the age of 17 and retired in 1968 with the rank of Staff Sargent. He married Ora Mae Allen on August 27, 1976 in Lawton, OK.
Norris was employed by Oklahoma Department of Agriculture as a Meat Inspector. He owned Mr. Porky's BBQ, from 1979 to1990. He was known as "Mr. Porky' and "The Whistling Chef. Norris was a member of the Washington Street Baptist Church, Past Master Mason of Hobart Lodge #198, and member of the American Legion Post #0213 in Oklahoma City. He was an avid musician, composer and performer.

11 brothers and sisters: Luvern Schlomer, Jewel Dame & wife Helen, Nelda Parker, Lillian Roberts, Wanda Coon, Mary Tanner, Earlene May, Diane Doll, Roger Dame & wife Dorothy, Linda Mahaney, Nancy Garner and husband Kenny, all of Kentucky.

8 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren
and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Norris was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Wilma Marlene Dame.

Burial will follow in the Hobart Rose Cemetery under the direction of Ray & Martha's Funeral Home of Hobart.
