Norma Jean Castner, of Mangum, Oklahoma, passed away Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Comanche County Memorial Hospital in Lawton, Oklahoma, at the age of 83. She was born October 26, 1934, in Altus, Oklahoma to Okley L. and Edna Hargis Roulain.
Earlier in life, Norma married Sonny Snipes and had two sons, Gary and Darren. She later was married to Paul Castner, until his death in 2016. She spent most of her life in Mangum and Altus, but also spent nearly 15 years in Alamo, TX. She was a devoted mother and wife and always enjoyed cooking. She worked as a nurse for many years before taking a role as case worker for the Department of Human Services working out of Jackson County until she retired. When not preparing tasty meals, she enjoyed traveling, visiting places like Alaska, Barbados, Hawaii, and Canada, and spent many weekends getting away to places to camp and fish, and especially enjoyed trips camping on the Auroya River.

Darren Snipes of Borger, Texas
Her sister: Barbara Roulain of Clinton, Oklahoma
her grandson: Bobby Bartels of Kansas City, Missouri
and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Castner

her brother, Rex Roulain
Memorial services for Norma will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of Ray and Martha's Funeral Home, Mangum, Oklahoma.
