Funeral services for Nina Mae (Langston) Lee 95 of rural Carnegie will be held 2:00 PM Friday, January 25, 2019 at Ray and Martha's Chapel in Carnegie
Nina was born the eldest of six children on November 20, 1923 to Clovis Dewey and Mary Valley (Richardson) Langston in Wynnewood, OK and passed away in the Carnegie Hospital on January 20, 2019.
Nina was married to Sidney (Sid) Theodore Lee July 26, 1946 in Wichita Falls, Texas. Nina attended school at Capitol Hill High School in Oklahoma City Oklahoma.
During World War II she worked for Douglas Aircraft as a "Rosie the Riveter" where she worked with Clyda "Lee" Teer from Saddle Mountain, Oklahoma who introduced her to future husband Sidney Lee.
Nina was an Oklahoma City Girl came to rural Carnegie in 1946 where they married. She did not know how to drive so the neighbors taught the city girl. She then learned to drive farm tractors plowing wheat fields and stripped cotton. While raising the four children she sewed clothing, she assisted with Sharon's Brownie Girl Scouts, Jerry's Cub Scouts as Den Mother, served as Band Mother and for a time was Band Mother's President. In the Community she was for years involved in the Alden Mother's Club.
While raising the family she was a Compton's Encyclopedia Salesperson, Tupperware Salesperson, worked at Durant for Bryan County Limestone with Sid then upon return to their home south of Carnegie she worked for Carnegie Nursing Home as Dietary Supervisor, Carnegie Senior Citizens Nutrition Center as Site Manager until she was age 83.
Preceded in death by her parents, Clovis & Mary Valley Langston; husband Sid Lee; son Jerry Don Lee; son-in-law Doug Wilson; sister Ruby Lee (Langston) Elmore; two brothers Kenneth Marion Langston; Eldon Willis Langston.
Survivors include son Bobby Wayne Lee & wife Carmen of Lawton Oklahoma; son Billy Ray Lee & wife Sandy of Ardmore Oklahoma; one daughter Sharon Darlene (Lee) Wilson of Carnegie Oklahoma; four grandchildren Carisa (Lee) & Stephan Ellis of Lawton Oklahoma; Jennifer (Lee) & Dale Kelley of Edmond OK; Chris & Kim Spillman of Yukon Oklahoma; Shane Alan Wilson of Carnegie Oklahoma; six great grandchildren Stephan Theodore Ellis; Robert Michael Ellis; McKenna Grace Kelley; Cade Alexander Kelley; Cody Spillman; Kasey Spillman; one sister Wanda June (Langston) Roper of Liberty South Carolina; one brother DelRoy Dean Langston; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Burial will be at the Green Valley Cemetery Mountain View Oklahoma under the direction of Ray & Martha's Funeral Home of Carnegie, Oklahoma.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to The Carnegie Tri County Municipal Hospital Memorial Fund; Carnegie Wildcat Education Endowment Fund; Green Valley Cemetery ASSC; Alden & Saddle Mountain Fire Departments.
