Nellie Darlene Newell Petrey, age 74 of Anadarko went to be with the Lord on May 12, 2016 in Oklahoma City with her family by her side.
Nellie was born on November 11, 1941 in Anadarko, OK to Con Sullivan Newell and Doris Carrie (Beets) Newell. She attended Anadarko High School. She meet the love of her life, Stan Petrey. Nellie and Stan were married on December 24, 1982 in Anadarko. After they married they traveled all over the world while Stan was working in the Oil fields.
Nell was a rodeo queen when she was younger, loved to go bowling, play bingo and was an avid traveler overseas. She loved her bird," K.B." and her dog, Max. She loved her children and grandchildren to the moon and back.
She is survived by her husband: Stan of the home; four children: Kelly Wall, Anadarko, OK, Chris Cyrus, TX, Pamela Elmore of TX, Debbie Smith and husband, Kevin of Illinois;10 grandchildren: Elijah Wall, Anadarko, OK; Amanda Sain and Leroy Williams, Jr., Oklahoma City ; Shelby Wall and wife Andrea, Anadarko, OK; Levi Wall and companion Rachel Palmer, Anadarko, OK; Christy Cary and husband Justin, Anadarko, OK; Ronnie Cyrus, Oklahoma City, OK; Chelsea Christian, Texas; Effie Elmore, Texas; Dustin Smith, Illinios; Dillan Smith, Illonois;15 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Dorothy Newell Montgomery and husband, Dr. John R. Montgomery, Huntsville, AL; Wanda Lou Newell Jensen and husband Jim Jensen of Norman, OK; niece: Michelle Goebel and husband Bill Goebel, Huntsville, AL; nephews: John Montgomery, Huntsville, AL; Reggie Jensen and wife Myrna of Dallas, TX; numerous other family relatives and many friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Con and Doris Newell; son: Michael Petree; grandson: Jimmy Elmore; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Lessie and Henry Franklin Petrey.
