Nelda Frances Smith, 74, former Anadarko resident, was born October 4, 1939, to Roy and Eva Irene (Dowdy) Spradling in Truce, Texas. She passed from this life on Monday, March 17, 2014, in Meeker, Oklahoma.
Nelda was raised and attended school in Bowie, Texas. In her teens, she moved Anadarko where she met and married Julius Delano Smith. To this union was born six sons. Nelda was a proud “stay-at-home†mom and housewife.
Nelda liked crocheting afghans, sewing and growing plants. She also loved spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents, three brothers, Cecil Spradling, Bill Spradling and Orville Ray Spradling and one sister, Ruthie Robrecht.
Survivors include six sons, Billy Smith of Anadarko, Lee Roy Smith and his wife, Yvonne, Justin Smith and his wife, Mary Sue, Curtis Smith and his Wife, Debbie, Cleo Smith, all of Anadarko and Steven Smith and his Wife, Norma of Ehrenberg, Arizona; twenty five grandchildren; 48 great grandchildren; several nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
The funeral will be at 2 P.M., Thursday, March 20, 2014, in the Steverson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Bryan Doughty officiating. Burial will follow in the Memory Lane Cemetery.
