Nawana Kareen Starks-Parks, age 87 of Hobart, passed away Thursday, November 26, 2015. She was born November 19, 1928, at Lake Creek, Oklahoma. She was one of nine children born to Robert and Regina Starks.

She married Joseph Antoine Lanig, and they had three boys: Joe, Roger, and Danny.

She worked in the cafes and B & K Nursing home. She loved taking care of her grandkids. She later moved to Amarillo, Texas, then to Burleson, Texas to be with her siblings.

She later married Pete Parks of Lancaster, Texas. The past year she resided at the Hobart Living Center with her roommate and friend Lorene McCallick.

She is survived by her four children, Larry Starks of Hobart, Oklahoma and his five children: Debbie, Larry Doyle, Terry, Jackie, and Rusty. Joe Lanig and wife Cathy of Roosevelt, Oklahoma and their two children: Katie Lanig and her son, Brad Lanig and wife Hillary and their two daughters. Roger Lanig of Hobart, Oklahoma. Danny Lanig of Hobart and two children: Joseph Lanig and wife Zara and their two daughters, Christy and husband and their son. One sister: Gerleen Turner, and three brothers: Tommy, Carol, and Richard Starks all of Texas. Numerous great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters: Sandra and Winona, two brothers: Harry and Kenneth, and husband.





Viewing will be Monday, November 30, 2015, 9:00 a.m., to 8:30 p.m.,
Ray & Martha's Funeral Chapel, Hobart, OK

Graveside Services will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 1, 2015, at Burleson Memorial Cemetery in Burleson, Texas, under the direction of Ray & Martha's Funeral Home, Hobart.
