Nathalene Mary (Eckiwaudah) RedElk, 85, of Anadarko, OK was born August 11, 1934 to Nathan and Mary Keechi (Hoag) Eckiwaudah in Lawton, OK and passed away Thursday, December 12, 2019 in Yukon, OK. Nat grew up in the Washita area. She married Melford RedElk and had two sons, Roderick who passed away in 1969 at the age of 19 and L. G.
Melford and Nat lived in the Chicago area for 20 years, where she worked in mental health. They moved back to the Anadarko area in the 70's.
She attended Riverside school until the 7th grade when she transferred to Washita, OK. USAO was her college of choice and she earned her degree in 1988.
Melford had a lengthy illness and she spent her time taking care of him until his death February 6, 1990. Before his passing they were told they were going to be grandparents. Jimi was born June of 1990. His brother Matthew, October of 1991 and in August 1994 their sister Corinna was born. Nat had a great love of her grandbabies and even "adopted" Christopher, Caira, Cherica and Mia. She taught them the love of music. Everything from Elvis to the latest rock music. Cinderella was one of her favorites. She could be seen sitting under the carport "jammin out" while the kids rode bikes or played in the dirt.

Special niece: Tami Eckiwaudah
Loving Ladies of the Delaware Tribal office and Brenda Villalba who went above and beyond.

She will be greatly missed.
