Moses "Hootie" Whitecloud

Moses was born January 21, 1974 in Lawrence, KS to Phyllis and Gary Whitecloud Sr. He was given his nickname "Hootie" by his maternal grandparents, Revina and Herman Frank. He attended Anadarko High School, where he met many lifelong friends and proceeded to graduate in 1992, from there went on to attend SIPI in Albuquerque, NM.
Hootie was an enrolled member of the Otoe-Missouria tribe from Red Rock, OK. His other tribes are Kiowa, Kiowa-Apache, Creek, Seminole, Ioway, Sac n Fox and Navajo. His Indian name is "Katcv", named in Creek, it means "Tiger". He was strong in faith and attended both Grace Christian and First Caddo Baptist in Ft. Cobb. He was baptized at First Indian Baptist in Phoenix, AZ.
Hootie was an avid sports fan, his favorite teams consisting of the Oklahoma Sooners and the Dallas Cowboys. His favorite activities consist of golfing, fishing, singing, and gourd dancing. Hootie was an accomplished singer, drum maker and drum stick maker. He was a part of famous pow wow drum group(s) Rose Hill, Bad Medicine, and the Oklahoma Outlaws. He was also a sponsor and mentor for children a part of the Barona Little Hawks in Barona, CA.
Hootie is survived by his parents Phyllis Whitecloud (Anadarko), Gary Whitecloud Sr. (Tulsa), daughter Reagan Thawdapema Whitecloud (Hollywood, FL), son Tennyson Perry Whitecloud (Lakeside, CA), companion Amanda Hill (Carnegie), his grandchildren Alexandria, Joelle and Messiah Whitecloud (Hollywood,FL), his brother and sister Gary "Chink" Whitecloud Jr. (Red Rock), Robyn Whitecloud (Haskell), his Grandmothers Rena Belle Whitecloud (Tulsa, OK), Revina Frank (Anadarko, OK), and all of his nieces, nephews and adopted siblings from all over indian country.
Hootie was preceded by his papa Herman Frank, great grandparents Moses and Manoah Gray, and great great grandparents Tennyson and Anna Berry. He is also a descendant of Chief Whitecloud of the Ioway tribe. Welcoming Hootie into heaven are his brothers Lance "Windyboy" Whitecloud and Glen Ahhaitty.
