Mildred Ollie Evans, 97, of Carnegie, OK passed away Saturday May 4th, 2013 at the Carnegie Hospital. She was born October 1st, 1915 to Thomas Newton and Leola Pearl (Byrd) Banks in Mountain View, OK. She attended and graduated from Mountain View High Scool. Mildred was united in marriage to Howard Evans, September 24, 1933 in Mountain View, OK. Mildred was a member of the New Harmony Baptist Church. She loved to cook, quilt and play dominoes. She was a wonderful seamstress and could make a pattern for anything she looked at. Mildred loved to cook for her family around the holidays, and was known for her homemade pies and burnt sugar cake.
She is survived by her son, Thurman Evans and wife, Lena Mae, Fort Cobb, OK
two daughters, Joyce Mabry and husband, Johnny, Carnegie, OK
Linda Mandrell, Carnegie, OK
eleven grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren
daughter-in-law, Bonnie (Evans) Cabattari, Bentonville, Arkansas
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, Charles Eugene (Gene) Evans, one son-in-law, Eddie Mandrell, four sisters and three great grandchildren.
