Michael Dale Leflore

August 28, 1955 — December 13, 2018

Michael "Bear" Dale LeFlore passed away Thursday, December 13, 2018 at his residence in Whittier, California. Michael was born August 28, 1955 to Moses LeFlore Jr. and Lorena Jean Hosetosavit in Mescalero, New Mexico. He was the big brother to Kathy and Lisa LeFlore. His mom had bought him a jacket that resembled the bear from the Sugar Crisp cereal and he would then be called Sugar Bear, and as he got older he was known as Bear. He grew up in the city of Cudahy and graduated from Bell High.
He married Vera Mae Creepingbear on February 5, 1982 in San Francisco. After a brief residence in Carnegie, Oklahoma, where he worked at Beauty Craft Vanities, he moved his family back to Los Angeles, California where he later retired as a fork lift driver.
Bear loved playing sports from when he was young up until his mid-40's. He would play first baseman in softball on Sundays and play basketball during the week on an Indian League.
In his free time, he loved to make dreamcatchers and jam out to his music. He enjoyed the beach and use to surf in his teens. He was a proud member of the Comanche Tribe.

He is survived by his daughter Melodie Creepingbear and husband Richard Jackson,
son Matthew Boland,
daughter Micah LeFlore and fiance Daniel Galindo,
grandchildren: Anna, Joshua, Nakai, Jr., Cupcake, Twinkie, and great granddaughter Meliah Mae.

He is preceded in death by his parents; Moses LaFlore Jr. and Lorena Jean Hosetosavit, wife Vera LeFlore, and daughter Kimberly LeFlore.
