Max Harry Tawkoyty was born in Alden, Oklahoma on June 21st, 1959 to Wayne Boulden Tawkoyty and Marlene Joyce Komalty. He was delivered at home by Grace Tsonetokoy. Max was so small as a baby that he was affectionately known as "PeeWee." Max grew up at Hog Creek and attended school in Anadarko, Oklahoma. After graduating, Max studied the culinary arts and became a cook. Max had a heart for helping other people, he loved volunteer work and taking care of those in need. He also loved making crafts. Max was a member of Ware's Chapel where he played in the band and sung gospel music in the choir. Max was a proud member of the Samoans, Comanche, and Kiowa tribes.
