Lucy (Petty) Whitt passed away from this life on September 20, 2017 in Chickasha, Oklahoma. She was born in Dallas, Texas to Lucile Herrin on October 30th, 1938. Lucy graduated from Bells, Texas High School. She married Jim Whitt on February 16, 1963 in Bells, Texas. She attended East Texas State University where she graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in History and Library Science. Throughout her life, Lucy had many interests. She was a crafter, a painter, and an avid reader. Her broad range of talents are evidenced by her roles as a teacher, a homemaker, a realtor, and a florist. She enjoyed working at Sunset Elementary as a librarian for many years before retiring. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Anadarko, Oklahoma where she enjoyed working in children's church.
Lucy is preceded in death by her mother Lucile (Herrin) Vincent and her step-father Bob Vincent. Lucy is survived by her husband Jim Whitt of the home.

Jennifer Dennis and husband Patrick of Newcastle, Oklahoma
Two granddaughters: Hannah Elrod of Norman, Oklahoma

One Sister: Patricia Benrud of Chickasha, Oklahoma.
