Mary Jean Shaw

Mary Jean (Kobs) Shaw, 89, passed away September 29, 2018. She was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on January 5th, 1929 to Russell Maurice "Rusty" and Gladys Lillian (States) Kobs. She married Robert Louis Shaw on December 23, 1951 in Mountain View, Oklahoma. She graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1951. She was a member of Delta Gamma Sorority, SPE Wives club and many bridge groups. As a mother of four very active children, she involved herself with countless clubs and organizations. She loved Oklahoma Sooner football, her cousins, music, and reading. After Louis's retirement, she returned to northwest Oklahoma City in 1989 until a recent move to Durham, North Carolina.
Jean was truly engaging, she made you feel welcome and like you were the only one in the moment.

She is preceded in death by her husband Robert Louis Shaw, her parents Russell Maurice "Rusty" and Gladys Lilliam (States) Kobs, and her sister and husband Bebe and Dr. Paul Reimer.

She is survived by her children, Dr. Keith Shaw of Durham, NC,
Russell Shaw of Houston, TX,
Dru (Shaw) Wright of New Ulm, MN,
Lynn (Shaw) Lacy of Austin, TX,
7 beloved grandchildren: Cindy, Sarah, Marty, Matt, Rachel, Austin, Jordan
1 great grandchild, Abigail,
and by Patricia Resick, Beth Shaw, and Kevin "Bo" Wright.


Funeral: 1:00 p.m., Monday, October 8, 2018

Mountain View, Oklahoma
Services are under the direction of Ray & Martha's Funeral Home, Mountain View, Oklahoma
