Mary Lois Saathoff, age 82, of Anadarko went to be with the Lord on June 29, 2016. She had been a resident of Grace Living Center in Chickasha for the past several months.
Mary was born on August 5, 1933 in El Reno, Oklahoma to William and Lois (Dearing) Quayle. After graduating from Chickasha High School and Oklahoma College for Women, she married Valdo Saathoff on August 16, 1958 in Chickasha and moved to Anadarko where they ran their farm/ranch. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Anadarko and also the Gracemont Rebekah Lodge, where she served as Noble Grand in 1963. Mary enjoyed sending cards, letters and newspaper clippings to members of the community and was loved by many. Spending time with her two grandchildren and attending their activities was the highlight of her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Lois Quayle; husband, Valdo Saathoff; an infant son; nephew, Bill Elliott; and brother-in-law, Neldo Saathoff.
Survivors are daughter, Vicki Clem and husband Ryan of Tuttle; son, Steven Saathoff of Anadarko; grandchildren, Cody and Ryleigh Clem of Tuttle; sister and brother-in-law, Bobi and Ott Elliott of Chickasha; nieces Debi Freeman of Edmond and Lori Elliott of Moore; sister-in-law Juanita Saathoff and her family of Lake Bay, Washington; and many other family and friends.
Services will be held at Square Top Baptist Church northwest of Anadarko on Saturday, July 2 at 10:00 a.m., with Rev. Bryan Doughty officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Square Top Baptist Church building fund.
