Mary Joyce Milton

Mary Joyce Milton, 84, of Anadarko, was born October 29, 1930, to Charles Crawford and Clara Lela (Shaw) Reece in Alfalfa. She passed from this life on Saturday, May 30, 2015, in Oklahoma City from complications after a fall three months ago that resulted in a fractured hip.
Joyce attended Fairview School, Fort Cobb Schools and in the ninth grade, went to Anadarko High School graduating with the Class of 1947. In October, on her 21st birthday, she married Malcom I. (Tony) Milton. Due to Tony's employment in the oil and gas industry, their travels included Lebanon, Jordan, Ethiopia, England and Australia. Upon their return to the U.S., Tony and Joyce settled in Anadarko and became co-owners of the Black Beaver Motel. She later owned and operated the YuNeek Gift Store in downtown Anadarko for 32 years. Joyce was a lifelong member of the Presbyterian Church until its closing and later attended the First Christian Church. She was also a member of the Philomathic Club, the Fort Cobb Master Conservancy District and the Anadarko Community Library Trust.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Tony Milton; sister-in-law, Mareita Reece; and nephew, Mark Bell.
Survivors include two children, Alan Milton of Anadarko and Tari Nixon; grandchild, Kari Nixon both of Beaverton, Oregon; siblings, C. Herman Reece of Oklahoma City and Betty Bell and her husband, Richard of Anadarko; several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
