Mary Lue Mcclure

May 4, 1926 — November 23, 2018

Mary Lue McClure, a longtime resident of Anadarko, Oklahoma passed away at the age of 92 at her home East of Anadarko. She was born May 4, 1926, in Ft. Cobb, Oklahoma to Willie Lee and Effie May (Strickland) Martin. She was the baby of nine children. She married George W. McClure, Jr. on February 22, 1945, and to this union was born one son, Don Ray, and two daughters, Kathy and Teresa.


Mary worked with Jr. on all the dairy and farming operations. She prepared meals for fall harvest of wheat, oats, and alfalfa, as well as raising a family and growing large gardens. . She was very active with her kids at school by being a homeroom mom and an FHA mom. She was an excellent cook and was always the most hospitable person anyone could know. She would prepare food for anyone that stopped by. She always was involved at church and helped with all the funeral dinners. It was a love of her life. She loved all the things her children and grandchildren were involved in. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Verden, Oklahoma. She was loved by her family and friends and will be greatly missed.


She is survived by her husband of 73 years, George of the home East of Anadarko, Oklahoma.

Krista Clark and husband Will of Chickasha, Oklahoma
Derek McDuffey and wife Melissa of Norman, Oklahoma
Barry Bohn and wife Krissy of Marlow, Oklahoma
7 Great Grand Children
2 Great Great Grandchildren
And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends,


She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Don Ray McClure, granddaughter, Darci Jean McDuffey, brothers, Ralph, Theodore, Cecil, Alton, Robert, and Herbert Martin, sisters, Edith Mason, Irene Wilson, and many nieces, nephews, brother and sister in laws, and many, many friends.


Visitation: 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 27, 2018
The McClure Family will meet and greet family and friends
6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at the Ray & Martha's Funeral Home
Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 28 First Baptist Church, Verden, Oklahoma
Interment: Memory Lane Cemetery, Anadarko, Oklahoma
