Mary Kathryn Brockhaus Luttrell, 86 of Anadarko, was born November 19, 1930, to John Anton "Jack" and Iola Altha (Berglan) Brockhaus in Norman, Oklahoma. She went to her heavenly home on Friday, April 14, 2017 in Oklahoma City following a brief illness.
She attended school in Norman until the second semester of her junior year of high school when she transferred to Noble High School, graduating the following year. Mary K. then completed the secretarial course at Hill's Business University in Oklahoma City in the fall of 1950. She worked for the Professor of Military of Science and Tactics, ROTC, and the University of Oklahoma in Norman.
She met the love of her life, Ray Leo Luttrell on a blind date and they married February 18, 1950. Their three children were born to this union.
In 1956 the family moved to Anadarko where she worked for Head Start and later the Bureau of Indian Affairs until her retirement.
Preceding her in death were her husband, parents, parents-in-law Virga and Willa Mae Luttrell, brothers Leroy, Harold and Gene Brockhaus, sisters-in-law Velma Monard, Dora Holman and O'Dene Mills, brothers-in-law Gene Hewitt, Adolph Monard, Bill Holman and Bob Sloan.
Survivors include her daughter Patricia Leatherbury and her husband Allan, of Cyril, sons Jerry Luttrell and his wife, Karen and David Luttrell all of Anadarko, sister Paula Hewitt of Norman, brother James Brockhaus and his wife Nettie of Noble, sisters-in-law Ruth Brockhaus of Noble, Veronica Sloan of Bethany and Aneta Erickson and her husband, Tom of Anadarko, brothers-in-law Emmitt Luttrell and his wife, Maureen of Palmdale, California and Howard Mills of Loganville, Georgia; seven grandchildren, Justin Leatherbury and his wife, Jessika of Oklahoma City, Jennifer McEachern and her husband, Brandon of Bethany, Jeremy Luttrell and his wife, Tonya of Bixby, David Ray Luttrell and his fiance' Katie Lyon of Pocasset, William Christopher Luttrell and his wife Reanna, and Steve Luttrell and his wife Amy all of Mustang and Eddie Luttrell and his wife Katie of Yukon; 19 great-grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and many other relatives and friends.
A celebration of Mary K.'s life is planned for 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at the Churce of the Nazarene, Anadarko, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at the Memory Lane Cemetery south of Anadarko. Family visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening, April 18, 2017.
