Mary Elizabeth Johns

March 31, 1953 — April 3, 2020

Mary Elizabeth (Liz) Johns, 67, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma passed away peacefully on April 3, 2020 with two of her sons by her side. She was born on March 31, 1953 to Barton and Wanda (Evans) Baker in Hobart, Oklahoma. She had fond memories of growing up in Gotebo, OK where she played basketball and learned that you could reverse the miles on an odometer by driving home backwards. She graduated from Hobart High School in 1971 at the top of her class. She met Richard Craig Cummings while attending Oklahoma Baptist University and they were married and had two sons. Many years later, she met Wilbur Johns and they were married on May 24, 1985 in Hobart, OK. She has considered herself the mom of four boys ever since.

In addition to being the best mom on earth, she dedicated her life to helping adults with developmental disabilities and touched countless other peoples' lives with her endless kindness and sincere desire to help. She was smart and wise and tough and kind and she knew everything. Never one to give up, she met every adversity life threw at her with hard work and optimism. She loved her dad, who could do no wrong, and she also loved to quilt.

Preceded in death by her Parents: Barton and Wanda Baker, Husband: Wilbur Johns, Brother: Barton Wayne Baker, Sister: Cynthia Beadles

Survivors include:
4 Children: Craig Cummings, Oklahoma City, OK
Brad Cummings and fiance Sarah, Oklahoma City, OK
