Some people come into our lives and quickly go, some stay for a while and leave foot prints on our hearts and we are never the same. Mary Frances was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, aunt and friend to all of whom she loved dearly. She was humble, beautiful and so very kind. Always the fun type, loved to tease and look at the brighter side of life. She was an ever-present optimist. Mary loved the Lord God with her whole heart and soul. She loved adventure, always on the go, traveling, Botone Women outings, spending time with family and friends, movies and OU football games, Scrabble, Yahtzee, Bingo and prior to the pandemic enjoyed going to the casinos and large family gatherings. She lived her life to the fullest, loving others unconditionally.

She entered this world on August 2, 1945 and was born at the Kiowa Indian Hospital in Lawton, Oklahoma. She was one of eight children, a daughter born to Frank and Lilly (Botone) Kodaseet of Anadarko, Oklahoma. She was an enrolled member of the Kiowa Tribe of Oklahoma. Mary Frances attended St. Patrick's Indian Mission of Anadarko and was a graduate of Anadarko High School. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business from the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma in Chickasha, Oklahoma. After graduating, she held very important roles in historic organizations for Native Americans that spanned over 40 years, working with the Kiowa Tribe, the 23 Tribes of Western Oklahoma and Kansas, the Absentee Shawnee Tribe, Three Feathers, Indian Health Service and the Bureau of Indian Affairs. Mary always loved a challenge and loved working for the tribes in helping them realize their Indian Self Determination goals. Mary retired from the Bureau of Indian Affairs where she was a Contract Specialist with over 32 years of federal services in 2009.

Mary was a proud member of the Kiowa War Mother's Society and was the 1962 Kiowa Tribe Princess. She enjoyed camping in Carnegie during the annual Kiowa Gourd Clan Society Celebration on the Fourth of July. Her greatest joy was loving her family, being with them and friends for all occasions and sharing in their activities and accomplishments.

Mary Frances is predeceased by her parents, Frank and Lilly; spouse, Charles Carter; sisters, Catherine Kodaseet and Patricia Kodaseet Burgess; brothers, Gary Kodaseet, Gilbert Kodaseet, and Edward Harrison Kodaseet and several cherished relatives and friends. What a joyful reunion it must be!

Mary is survived by her: three biological children, John Campbell and spouse Lori, Norman, OK; Shelly Campbell, Anadarko, OK; and Aietah Stephens and spouse Lancer, Mustang, OK; great-grandson, Rolando Vasquez of Anadarko whom she helped raise, daughter Andrea Albright and spouse Joel of Oklahoma City, OK; 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, sisters, Charlene Bolinsky of Chesapeake, VA, and Marilyn Bread of Elgin, OK and numerous nieces, nephews and friends whom she called her greatest blessings.

Mary was a devoted Christian, great role model and a beautiful woman inside and out. Upon her leaving, she won the Jackpot of Heaven! God bless you, Pahdohmawthe Moon Woman, look at us and pray for us from your heavenly eternal home. We'll miss your smile and good heart.
