Marland Lee "Fuzz"Toyekoyah Sr. age 73, of Anadarko, Ok, was born to Evaline Komalty Toyekoyah in Lawton, Ok on March 3, 1946. He passed away on Thursday, December 5th, 2019.
Marland graduated from Carnegie High School in 1964. Where he was a proud member of the 1962 Carnegie Wildcat Semifinal football team. He continued his education at Haskell Institute, where he received his associate's degree in business. And was a member of the Haskell Basketball team. He also attended the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma where he pursued a degree in Political Science and Indian studies with the hopes of being a high school coach. He married Dawn Cecille Daugomah in 1966. He then joined the United States Army in 1967 and served in the Vietnam war in the 25th infantry division as a "scout dog" handler. His dog was named "Little John". He received two purple hearts and a Bronze Star for his meritorious military efforts. After his military service, He settled in Phoenix Arizona where he worked several jobs before working 30 years with the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
He was an athletic person who loved sports and played football, basketball, golf, and fast pitch softball in his later years. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and loved the outdoors and camping every 4th of July at the Kiowa Gourd Clan Ceremonies in Carnegie, Oklahoma. He loved the Oklahoma Sooners in any sport, Oklahoma City Thunder and Dallas Cowboys. He loved Western TV shows and movies.
Marland is survived by two sons, Marland "Bonner" Toyekoyah Jr. and Wife Sha of Anadarko, Ok. and Allie Jason Toyekoyah and companion Larissa Beard of Oklahoma City, OK. Grandsons: Sky Christopher James, Marland "Trey",and Titan Noble Luke Toyekoyah of Anadarko, Ok. Matthew Arthur James, John Akie Tahgaah Hall of Albuquerque, NM. Granddaughters: Ahnawake Dahn and Leynne Annette Toyekoyah of Anadarko, OK. Katielynn Lee Dawn Hall of Albuquerque, NM. Great Grandson, Bradley Herrera Toyekoyah of Oklahoma City. One sister Myra Leanne "Annie" Smith of Anadarko, OK. Special sons Ronald "Chris" Paddlety and Myles "Punkin" Stephenson Jr.
He was preceded in death by; His wife of 38 years Dawn Cecille Daugomah Toyekoyah, His Beloved Daughter Geri Lynn Toyekoyah, His Mother Evaline Komalty Toyekoyah. His Brother Bernie "Redfeather" Toyekoyah Sr., Brother Thad "Bobbie O" Toyekoyah, and Grandson Matthew Alan Toyekoyah.
