Marla Kay Jackson

November 29, 1960 — September 30, 2017

Marla Kay Jackson, 56, of Cordell, Oklahoma passed away on September 30th, 2017. Marla was born on November 29th, 1960 to Gordon G (Jerry) and Martha A (Alles) Kilgore in Denver, Colorado. She grew up in Milliken, Colorado, and graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1979. Her loves included playing volleyball, softball, and basketball. The local schools and competitions peaked her interest with frequent attendance to the games. Marla attended Ames College in Greeley, Colorado and was awarded certification as a Radiology Technician. Marla married the love of her life, Michael Jackson, in Estes Park, Colorado, on September 14, 1991. They originated their own company: Brazos Associates Inc., acting as a consulting firm for government regulations, and processing. In 2012, they returned to Cordell, and rejoined the family. Michael preceded Marla in death, early in 2015. Marla was a member of the First United Methodist Church, providing secretarial services, and leadership in mission work. She was firmly committed to the community as evidenced by her activities in the Cordell Civic Club. Marla will be missed by all who knew and loved her, including her yorkie companion, Buddy.
