Mark Burton Keahbone

Mark Burton Keahbone, 57, of Anadarko, OK, entered into rest Friday, March 20, 2020. He was born December 12, 1962, at Lawton Indian Hospital, to Edbert Ernie and Wyola (Klinekole) Keahbone. Mark grew up in Washita, Oklahoma baptized at St. Patrick's Catholic Church and attended Grace Christian Fellowship Church and Christ Our Savior Church. He was also a member of the Kiowa Tribe of Oklahoma, and descendant of the Comanche and Apache Tribes.
He was united in marriage to Anita Rae (Starr) Keahbone, January 28, 2001, and made their home in Anadarko. Mark was a graduate of Riverside Indian School and went on to attend Caddo Kiowa Technology Center to become certified in Masonary. Mark was also a Wildland Firefighter with the Caddo and Kiowa Tribes and also designed tshirts for the fire crews. He later worked with the Environmental Program for the Delaware Tribe, Horn Sanitation and WCD Enterprises. Mark also volunteered his time helping at the Oakridge Food Bank thru Grace Christian Fellowship Church. He enjoyed wood work and carving, spending time reading at the library, doing lawn work and spending time with his dogs Bruiser and Alena.
Survivors include one sister, Sindy M. Keahbone-McNamar and spouse Terry of Apache, Oklahoma. Five brothers, Edbert E. Keahbone Jr. and spouse Elizabeth, Gilbert C. Keahbone and spouse Vivan "Sweet Dew" all of Anadarko, Oklahoma. Cameron Keahbone and spouse Diane of Corsicana, Texas. Blake E. Keahbone of Fort Supply, Oklahoma, and Perry K. Keahbone of Chicago, Illinois. Two uncles, Gregg Klinekole and spouse Lyntha of Anadarko, OK and Eugene Klinekole of Mescalero, NM; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.
He was proceeded in death by his wife Anita Rae (Starr) Keahbone in 2014, paternal grandparents Mark O. and Eugenia E. (Geikaunmah) Keahbone and maternal grandparents Gregg and Julia Lucy (Eckiwaudah) Klinekole. One sister, E.R. Wynnell Keahbone-Fisher. Brothers, Patrick "Hammie" Keahbone and baby William G. Sumpter, and one niece Eugenia A. Keahbone.
He will be missed by all who loved him.
