Marita Jane Douglass of Anadarko, OK passed away Friday, January 1, 2021 in Oklahoma City, OK. She was born April 3, 1940 to William H. and Elsie Edna Ringer in Dale, Oklahoma.
She graduated from Bethel High School in 1957. She married Jack Coker in July 1957. To this union three children were born, Bryan, Shelly and Darin.
Marita married David Douglass in May 1971. They lived in Anadarko, OK until they retired. In 2001 they moved to South Fork, CO. They enjoyed living in the mountains until David's illness and death in October, 2018. She moved back to Anadarko, OK for a few months. Marita spent the last 18 months at Glenhaven Retirement Village in Chickasha, OK.
She was an LPN for many years, working at hospitals in Shawnee and Chickasha, Oklahoma. She also worked at nursing homes in Chickasha, OK and Cyril, OK and in Del Norte, CO.
Marita was a member of Gateway Baptist Church in Del Norte, Colorado, CO.
She enjoyed reading, sewing, crossword and jigsaw puzzles.
She is survived by her children, Bryan and Brenda Coker, Anadarko, OK; Shelly and Glen Godwin, Harleton, TX; Darin and Roxanne Coker of Anadarko, OK; one brother, Darrell Ringer of Shawnee, OK; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and two great, great-grandchildren.
Marita was preceded in death by her husband David Douglass; her parents, William and Elsie Ringer; two sisters, Ruby Marlow and Veda Haislip and three brothers, Carl, Bill and Don Ringer.
