Marion Milton Otis-Toehay

Marion Milton (Cheetah Boy) Otis Toehay, Sr., passed away Thursday, May 16, 2019. He was born on May 26, 1933 at Stecker, Ok. to Tommy and Marie Chaino Otis.

Marion attended school at Riverside Indian School from the age of six years until his graduation. During his high school years he was an All-Stater in Track & Football and qualified for the Olympic Tryouts. He went on to serve in the U.S. Army & the National Guard with an Honorable Discharge.

He started as a young minister under the supervision of the late Rev. Martin Honeycutt, who was Otis' overseeer and the Oklahoma District Presbytor of the Amerian Indian Full Gospel Assemblies. Milton was servicing as the District Youth Leader for the Stecker Full Gospel Church when he met and fell in love with Ruth Ann Tsoodle who was the youth leader and one of the song leaders at the White Church. They both served their churches and fulfilled their duties at their churches until they were united in marriage on December 29, 1963 at the Stecker Full Gospel Church in Stecker, Ok.

He worked for the Anadarko Public Schools as a bus driver and then went on to work for the Carnegie Public Schools as a bus driver and Assistant Coach, Referee, and Umpire for football, baseball, and basketball. He was well-known over the years by many "Wildcat" athletes as "Uncle Milton". He also worked at the Kiowa Tribe in the maintenance department for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Tommie and Marie Chaino Otis, his three brothers, Morgan Otis Sr, Tommy (Buster) Otis, Jr., and Robert Yeahpau. Two sisters, Thelma "Tin Can" Chaplin and Jesse Wetselline Wolfchief. One Special Granddaughter, Martha Autaubo and his son in law, Hicks Boyiddle II.
