Maria Mata Salazar

Maria Mata Salazar was born in Montemorelos, Nueva Leon, Mexico and passed away at her home in Hobart Oklahoma surrounded by her family and friends on June 18th, 2024. Maria married the love of her life, Francisco Salazar, in Sebastian Texas on February 12th, 1947. Maria was a devoted homemaker and mother. When she wasn't spending time with her children and grandchildren, Maria spent her time knitting, crocheting, sewing, quilting, tending to her garden, and canning her homegrown vegetables and fruits. She loved traveling to see her kids and would do so as often as she could. Maria was an avid follower of Christ and spent much of her time reading the word of God. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Maria is also survived by 49 grandchildren, 81 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-granchildren.

Maria is preceded in death by her parents: Eusebio and Aurelia Mata, her husband Francisco Salazar, her children Abdon Salazar, Lupe Salazar, Maria Elena Salazar and 2 infant children, 5 brothers, 2 sisters, 2 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.
