Marcus Anthony Alcantar Jr.

Marcus Anthony Alcantar Jr., aka MJ, age 6, of Burns Flat, OK, passed away on December 28th, 2024. MJ was born on May 1st, 2018 to Kathern Cooksey-Alcantar of Burns Flat, OK, and Marcus Alcantar Sr., of Cordell, OK. MJ was such a joyful and vibrant soul, always bringing light to those around him. From the very beginning, MJ was a fighter; he faced incredible challenges at birth, overcoming daunting odds of 50/50. MJ was nothing short of a warrior.

At just two years old, he suffered a brain injury due to a lack of oxygen, which left him bedridden. But despite this immense struggle, he continued to shine. For four years, MJ embarked on countless adventures with us and the caring community at Bethany Children's. He touched the lives of many, forging deep connections and friendships along the way, and together we created countless beautiful memories that will be cherished forever.

He is preceded in death by Grandmother Lucille Cooksey Eardman, Grandfather Greg Cooksey, Great Grandfather Billy Cooksey, Great Grandmother Kathern Cooksey, Paternal Great Grandmother Lucille Huntsberger, and cousin Javon Ali.
