Mae V. Edwards, 97, of Anadarko, was born April 18, 1916 to Walter D. and Ruth Mamie (Medlin) Beets in Anadarko. She passed from this life on Monday, June 3, 2013, in Anadarko.
Mae grew up in Anadarko and attended Elderbury, Verden , Stockton and Washita Public Schools. Ms. Edwards worked as a nurse's aide and cook in various nursing homes. Mae was converted at The Nazarene Church when it was located on east Oklahoma Street, becoming a member in 1938. Survivors include five nieces, Karla Burks of Hinton, Cheri Ballanger of Bartlesville, Rhonda Farley of Yukon, Darlene Cummings of Houston, Texas and Carol Konz of Blanchard; a nephew, Harold Ellis of Eureka Springs, Arkansas; numerous great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and friends.
The funeral was held at 2 P.M., today, Wednesday, June 6, 2013 at the Anadarko First Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Curtis Koscheski officiating. Burial was to follow in the Memory Lane Cemetery. Online condolences may be left for the family at
