Lottie Callen

June 9, 1915 — August 10, 2015

Lottie Callen died on August 10, 2015, at Elkview Hospital in Hobart after a short illness. She celebrated her 100th birthday on June 9, 2015. She was born in Cooperton, OK to Mary Arvazena "Zennie" and Arthur Lewis Wood who owned a general store. Lottie graduated from Cooperton High School in 1931. She attended the Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha for one year and married James Callen on June 9, 1933. They farmed and ranched in the Cooperton community and owned the Ford dealership in Hobart for a time in the 60's. They were married for 65 years until his death in 1998. They had four children - Dale (Merrilee) of Cooperton/Gotebo, Paul (Diane) of Weimer, Tx, Nick of Cooperton, and Mary Janet Gilbert (Ron) of Lubbock, TX. There are 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Relatives still in the area include Della June Liles, Ned and Betty Callen, Wesley Callen, Philip Liles, and Doug Liles.
