Lorene Blanche Funkhouser

Lorene Funkhouser, 83, of Hobart and formerly of Roosevelt, passed away on Monday, January 3, 2011 in Hobart, OK. She was born on September 18, 1927 in Cooperton, OK to Clarence and Mabel (Stauffer) Cox. Lorene graduated from Cooperton High School in 1945. She furthered her education by attending college at Chickasha and Stillwater. Lorene married Kenneth Funkhouser on March 9, 1947 and he preceded her in death on March 7, 2000. She worked for Dr. Ralph Phelan and upon his retirement Lorene worked at Elkview General Hospital as an xray technician until her retirement. Lorene was a member of the First Baptist Church in Roosevelt and played the piano and organ for many years until the fall of 2010.

6 great-grandchildren: Carson and Cameron Funkhouser, Fletcher, OK
Clay and Faith Funkhouser, Roosevelt, OK
Jacy and Ethan Funkhouser, Hobart, OK
2 sisters: Delores Swanson and husband Paul, Cooperton, OK
Carolyn Delk and husband Van, Mountain View, OK


Funeral Services: 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 5, 2011
First Baptist Church, Roosevelt, OK
Ministers Officiating: Rev. Alvin Funkhouser and Rev. Tim Tutten

Burial will follow in the Hobart Rose Cemetery under the direction of Ray & Martha's Funeral Home of Hobart, OK.
