Loraine Laverne Hunter, 94, former Hobart resident passed away peacefully on September 19th, 2018 in North Richland Hills, Texas. She is now in the presence of the Lord. She was born on July 25th, 1924 to Joseph and Pauline (Tidwell) Lovelady in Davidson, Oklahoma. Loraine grew up and attended school in Davidson, Oklahoma. She has outlived five siblings. Loraine told us memories of her childhood, what it was like growing up during the depression and the life during the dust bowl years and how they survived. Eventually she met and married the love her life Bill Tyler and soon became a military family, they were married for 48 years. During the war Loraine worked as a Rail Road Clerk, collecting data. Following the order of the Navy they moved to San Diego, California. After being discharged from military service they moved to Frederick, later moving to Hobart in 1950. Loraine and Bill opened Western Auto on Main Street and later changed the name to Tyler's Gifts on Main Street. 0ver the years Loraine converted larger and larger portions of the store into a gift shop and bridal registry. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Hobart, later moved to Texas to be closer to her daughter. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
