Lona Faye Ponder

Lona Faye Ponder, 86, entered into rest on March 20th, 2015. She was born on July 3, 1928 to Floy and Opal Kelley. She had three sisters; Hattie, Lorene, and Joleta, and one brother, R.L..She met Edgar E. Ponder in 1945. They were united in marriage on August 2, 1947 at Pleasant View Baptist Church in Carnegie, Oklahoma. Theirs was the first service held at the new church, and the first Sunday service was the following day. Three sons were blessed unto their union; Donald, Alan, and Floy.
She was a woman who, with her husband Edgar, lived their faith and with that great patience raised their sons that continued the Ponder and Kelley family lines. Her memory and love will be carried on with the three sons, three daughter-in-laws, five grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

A memorial service for Lona Faye Ponder will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, May 26, 2016, at Swan Lake Baptist Church. Reverend Donald Wright will be officiating. Burial will follow at Carnegie Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Ray & Martha's Funeral Home in Carnegie, Oklahoma.
