Lois Giles Scott Kindblade was born December 25, 1921 in her family home located in the Alden community to William A. Giles and Eunice Winn Giles. She died December 28th, 2018 in Carrollton, Texas. She grew up on a farm in the Alden Community. At an early age she joined the Presbyterian Church and was baptized in Cache Creek. She attended Neola Grade School through the sixth grade and Alden High School from 7th to 12th grades. Lois was Valedictorian of her 8th grade class and Salutatorian of her senior class. Music and drama were important in her life. She was a member of her high school trio and chorus. She participated in numerous one act and three act plays in high school. Lois married John D. Scott, August 8th, 1942. One daughter, Nita Kathleen and two sons, John David and James Franklin born to this union. They farmed and ranched and Lois fed harvest hand and kept books for the business. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Central State College in 1944 and taught in the Alfalfa schools for five years. At this time John D. served in Korea. After John D. returned home, she taught in Carnegie Junior High for 20 years. During this time she also received her masters degree from Southwestern State College. In 1968-69 she was voted Teacher of the Year by the student body and faculty. In 1972, she was Teacher of the year representing Caddo County at the State Fair. She served as treasurer of Caddo County Democratic Party a number of years, taught an adult Sunday school class, served as treasurer of the U.M.W., and wrote the Carnegie United Methodist Church history in 1984 when the church celebrated 80 years. She loved and enjoyed her family supporting her boys as a den mother, attending music recitals, numerous stock shows, and ball games. When Viet Nam fell, the Carnegie United Methodist Church sponsored two young men and one girl. Lois and John D. provided a home for Jenni for 4 ½ months. Lois taught Jenni English and she spoke well enough after 4 ½ months to be independent. John D. passed away on September 20, 1992, six weeks after celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. She married an old friend James D. Kindblade November 26, 1993. After she was appointed Carnegie Tag Agent in 1994, they were also involved in real estate and antiques until moving to Lawton in 1998. She volunteered at Southwest Memorial Hospital from April 1999 to April 2015.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Will and Eunice Giles, a daughter, Nita Kathleen, husbands, John D. Scott and James Kindblade, two brothers, Ivan and Ray Giles, two sisters and their husbands, Naomi and Roscoe Chadwick and Alma and Wayne Bogue.
She is survived by two sons and their wives, David and Patti Scott, Carnegie, Oklahoma and James and Sarah Scott, Ft. Worth, Texas. Two step daughters and their husbands, LaMarylis and Carl Hodges, Carnegie, Oklahoma and Jolanda and Lowell Herell, Kemp, Texas, and special daughter, Jenny & husband Hai Pham, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Eight grandchildren, Patrick and wife Amber Scott, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Elizabeth and husband Bryce Davis Anadarko, Oklahoma, Jonathan and wife Shannon Scott, Colorado Springs, Colorado, Andrew Scott, Carnegie, Oklahoma, Natalie Scott, Dallas, Texas, Shane & wife Brighton Miller, Ft. Worth, Texas, Ross and Bree Miller, Euless, Texas, Rachel Miller, Dallas, Texas. Tara & Lenny Craig, Lance and wife Nicki Herell, and James & Glenda Hodges, Pipton, Texas, Chris and Angel Hodges, Gilmer, Texas, and Greg and Kim Hodges, Kemp, Texas, and special grand daughter Julie & Jeff Miles.
Along with Eighteen great grandchildren.
