Linden Aldon Burleson

February 17, 1946 — May 25, 2017

Linden (L.B.) Burleson, 71, a resident of Anadarko, Oklahoma passed from this life on Thursday, May 25th, 2017, at his home in Anadarko, Oklahoma surrounded by his wife and loving friends. Linden was born on February 17th, 1946 to Stillman and Ruby (Brownen) Burleson in Los Banos, California.

L.B. served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Vietnam war. L.B. was a member of the Palomino Horse Breeders pf America, VFW, and First Christian Church.

L.B. is survived by his wife, Kathryn (Kay) (Carlton) Burleson of the home.
Sisters; Pat Klier and husband Wilbert, Neva Pessagno and husband Nick, his special niece Gail and nephews Todd & Scott. His special friends who are true blessings; Tony and Shannon Oberhauser, Corinna & Caira, Buddy and Amanda Gomes and Kash and Erin and Chyandra Teague and a legion of friends from coast to coast. His beloved dogs Jake and Jazmyn, his beautiful palomino horse Ace and precious donkeys Shrek & Fiona and the greatest cat ever, Brutus.

LB never met a stranger and had a heart as big as the sky. He wanted to help everyone and was always the first to lend a hand, a shoulder to lean on and a listening, non judgmental ear. He was proud to be an American and held pride for her deep in his heart. His heart beat faster and a silent tear of pride every time he heard the National Anthem. Many times in the midst of washing horses, bedding stalls or preparing to show, as soon as he heard the first few notes, he would stand up with hand over heart until finished.
He was the rock that Kay built her life around. They loved to work around the place together making improvements, planting flowers and just enjoying time spent together. He was absolutely the best stall cleaner, groom and "go-fer" at the shows, where he made hundreds of friends with his comical and genuine personality. In the end, we all saw his courage to fight the cancer that killed him and his desire to live. His hope was that his friends would see to it his beloved wife, Kay, would be loved and cared for in his absence. He was not afraid to die but he did fear leaving Kay alone. The blessings came in abundance from his sickness. There were renewed friendships, new friendships, freedom from tobacco and alcohol and most importantly, a chance to renew and strengthen the bond that held he and Kay together just shy of 32 years. This was faithful love story very few are privileged to know.
The world lost a good soldier, a loving husband and a true & loyal friend to so many.

He was preceded in death by his parents and in-laws Chester and Pat Carlton, his beloved dog Lexi Ann and his World Championship mare, Miss Tiffany Rose.
